Time… not enough

29 Mar

Seems I never have enough time to do what I want.
Perhaps I want to do too much.
Perhaps I’m not as organized as I should be.
Perhaps…
Perhaps…
Perhaps…
Here’s a video of busy bees.

A trip to China (pt.5)

15 Mar

I was in awe of the residential buildings in China. They are huge. There are quite plain and unattractive I must add. I was unable to get close to them because of the restrictions you have when on a package tour. I would love to see how people actually live in these monumental edifices. Many of them look new but are really rough around the edges and some, as you can see in the pictures, are falling apart. Enjoy the video/slideshow and music…

There are lots of signs in China – many informative and amusing. Enjoy this video/slideshow. I wrote a cool tune for the video.

A trip to China (pt. 3)

1 Mar

There’s a billion or more people in China. They all have to move from places to place.
There are many interesting vehicles there – many electric. We saw Teslas and other e-cars but I mostly photographed things that I would not see here at home in Canada. There are a lot of electric scooters zipping around as well carrying lots of cargo and people.
Enjoy the video / slideshow.

A trip to China (pt.2)

22 Feb

The nights in some cities in China are spectacular. Beijing was great and Shanghai was wonderful but the few hours we had in the evening in Chongquing were amazing. I wish we had one or two more evenings. This slideshow video features night shots form, in order, Beijing, Chonquing, the yangtse including a bridge in Badong, and Shanghai. It is well and truly lit up.

Enjoy the video and music.

Organization

Have been working on a static welcome page that will direct people to various sites with what I do. It has been fun … not. Ended up with a half done wordpress page. Its ok but still will need tweaking. See it at http://www.tonalsurge.com

A trip to China (pt.1)

17 Feb

As the most populated country in the world China is frequently mentioned in various quarters.
It is really a subject of discussion in the opening moths of 2020 because of the outbreak of the coronavirus – COVID-19.
I was on a trip in China just before the outbreak in early November 2019 so just missed this.
Below is a general slideshow/video of the trip.
The place is fascinating …
On one hand the technological prowess and advancement is proudly displayed to its citizens and visitors. But a closer look reveals that this is just a veneer. 10 to 20 year old buildings are crumbling. These are just brief observations made from a tour bus and river cruise. There was no time to look closer. I would love to go back to see some of these apartment complexes and towns in more detail.

There will be more videos posted centred on themes – buildings, people, cars, etc.

Enjoy the video. The music was composed one evening with just a guitar and some effect pedals.

Fight the night

24 Jul

As I night person, I have never have problems getting to sleep.
I would just keep on doing things until sleep found me.
This might be a good strategy when you are young – although medical professionals tend to frown on this.
I’ve never had a problem pulling all-nighters, to finish working on a project, sitting around with friends, taking available light photography at night – etc.
I pulled a all-nighter a few days ago and am still feeling the ill effects. On one hand, I guess I should not do this anymore but I really feel that I am simply out of shape.
Time to get back on it and fight the night.

Unblocked and uncorked

17 Jul

I realized that the cause of my inability to post and write was that I wrote a review of a wine and forgot to take a picture of that wine. The stores in my area were sold out of that bottle.
I was looking for it and dealing with other work and neglected the blog.
I finally found the bottle so the stars aligned and got me back on track
Good days ahead.

New work

10 Jul

New opportunities tend to unblock the lack of inertia in me.
My garage is clean(er) and relativly more organized.
There are several projects on the tool bench and several new projects on my computer.
Time to get to work.
