Kashubian Stork

12 Jul

I took this shot of a stork strolling through the fields last year. It was at my wife’s cousins house in the Kashubian Lakes area of Poland. There are a lot of storks in the northern part of Poland. They are a wonderful  creature to behold.

Precisian’s Note: it’s actually known as an “African stork,” because it migrates between its nesting grounds in eastern Europe and where it winters, in various places in Africa.

Anyway, they are truly a wondrous bird to behold.

Saw my first in the illustrations of Ukey children’s stuff, and then, from 1991 onwards, in Ukraine.
